Petra and Wadi Rum, Jordan Tour
I organize tours to Petra and Wadi Rum coming from Israel. It is recommended to do this tour in two days (or more if your time allows it) as follows:
FIRST DAY
-
Early morning flight to Eilat (flights from Tel Aviv are from Ben Gurion airport, from 1st of July 2019)
-
Pass the Arava border into Jordan, transfer to Jordanian vehicle of transport (as per size of your party)
-
Aqaba: for ATM, breakfast, quick drive around the city, then drive to Wadi Rum via the historical train station of Hejaz
-
Wadi Rum: Jeep tour in the desert to admire the scenery where the movie "Lawrence of Arabia" was filmed
-
Drive to Petra via the historical Kings Highway and across the mountains - sleep in Petra or close-by
SECOND DAY
-
Petra (visit by foot, for several hours): the Siq, the Treasury, the Street of Facades, the Theater, the Nabatean palaces and tombs; optionally: continue to the Roman-Byzantine ruins, and/or up the mountain to the High Place of Sacrifice
-
Little Petra (instead of the optional tour in Petra)
-
Drive to the Negev panorama to view towards Israel and then down the mountains to the Arava valley
-
Pass the border to Israel and fly back to Tel Aviv with an evening flight
Note: it is possible to do a one-day tour just to Petra and probably only for up to 4 hours, as it takes about 5 hours from the border and back; it is thus recommended to do this tour in two days, to enjoy the visits without too much time pressure.
