BIBLICAL CHRONOLOGY
Generation 11: Hebrew years 1200 to 1320 (2560-2440 BCE)
Introduction
Mankind became increasingly corrupted with practices of abominations.
Kenan
In Hebrew year 1235, Kenan died at the age of 905. He was followed by Mehalal-EL who died at the age of 895 in Hebrew year 1290.
And Kenan lived seventy years, and begot Mahalalel.
And Kenan lived after he begot Mahalalel eight hundred and forty years, and begot sons and daughters.
And all the days of Kenan were nine hundred and ten years; and he died.
And Mahalalel lived sixty and five years, and begot Jared.
And Mahalalel lived after he begot Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and begot sons and daughters.
And all the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred ninety and five years; and he died. (Genesis 5:12-17)
The generations since Adam were: Adam > Seth > Enosh > Kenan > Mahalal-El
During this generation, the Fertile Crescent was mostly ruled by the city-state of Ebla, identified near the present site of Tell-Mardikh in Northern Syria. Ebla was a pagan city-state, like the other states, but they had kept the knowledge that the world was created from One Lord:
Lord of heaven and earth
the earth was not, you created it,
the light of the day was not, you created it,
the morning light you had not [yet] made exist.
(Pettinato, Giovanni, The Archives of Ebla, An Empire Inscribed in Clay, New York, 1981, page 244)

Despite general corruption of mankind, the knowledge of the original Creator of the world was somehow transmitted from generation to generation during these pre-Flood societies, but with a corrupt message.
